Web site hosting. If the term means something to you all then either already have a hosting provider or are looking for. Anyway, I hope to inform you of some basic principles to look for in a hosting company. Personal, business, free, ecommerce or discount a consumer makes all the difference.
In reviewing hosting providers most people will not put this first point, but I do. Support. Yes, most companies have some type of support, but are not all equal. First and foremost is availability. The support staff must be available 24 / 7 by phone and email. The response time must be quick and wait time will be declared and published on the website. Technicians should be friendly, educated and speaks your language.
After the support of the next series of more important things to look for in a hosting company is typical. If the company can offer what you need, then you might as well go elsewhere. Some basic principles are, of course, the capacity and bandwidth, but more important is the ability to do what you need for your area. E-commerce, blogs, forums, scripts and databases are much more important then the amount of space you get.
Last but not least is price. When I say value I do not mean that you get the plane flying here. You should find the program that has the features you need and is affordable. Do not take more than just because you can. There are many hosting companies out there with bargain prices. They can do this because your server in their basement, next to the washer and dryer. Be careful that you do business with you and remember what you pay for.
In short, I am simply pointing out that the hosting environment is changing. With blogs and other increasingly popular hosting companies must adapt to stay in business. You, as consumers must be educated on what you owe and not be afraid to make a change, if you must.
In general, this makes VPS hosting much more stable than shared hosting. You no longer have to worry about what other customers are doing on your server because you’re now completely isolated from everyone else. With shared hosting, it is not uncommon for your site to go down, because some random customer ran some script that took down the entire server. This won’t happen on a VPS.
