Web Design: Steps To Your First Small Business Website

Posted by Admin :: Filed Under (Web Design)

When planning your first small business site, there are three key questions you should ask yourself:

  1. Who is your target audience?
  2. How will your target audience find you?
  3. How will you convert your visitors into sales?

These questions seem obvious, but it is amazing how many people do not bother … and then moan that “our region does not give us a business.”

1) What is your target audience?

Pay close attention to your target market. Who do you want to attract to your site, why? The answer to this question is more likely to sell something – a product, service or idea maybe.

Stating that your contract is a person and everyone is too vague, and your site will lack focus and fail to maximize its potential. Ideally, you should aim to create jobs.

2) How will your target audience to find you?

Creating a position will also help you with search engines and driving hot leads to your website.

Think about what keywords to your target market to enter into a search engine to find. Actually do some research yourself. Who are those in the top 30; because that is where it should be. Your competitors are there? Look at their sites. Do they work? How can you improve? Identify something unique about your business that stands out from the rest.

Keywords – keywords or phrases to be precise – will be incorporated into your pages on your site – at page titles, positions and internal links.
Be specific with your words. It will be less competitive than the more general word searches, and more specifically to your target market. You need to locate and return to specialize in the top 30 – and the top 30 is the part where you need to drive traffic to your website. As I am sure you are aware of your experience, if you do not find what you need in the first 3 pages of results, look elsewhere.

The key to achieving high ranking in search engines is to build incoming links to your pages – ie pages on external websites linked to pages on your site. Basically this link acquisition should be a natural development – which increases the number of incoming links to a gradual pace. Pages that link to yours must be relevant to the subject and, ideally, contain the same keywords – particularly in the link text. search engine ranking pages based on their reputation – your ranking is determined by what other (preferably senior) pages as to your page.

3) How will you convert your visitors into sales?

Do not just tell them what you do or sell. Tell them why they want (yes, like – not needed). Incentives, gifts, discounts – anything to get that dialogue started.

Current research shows that the brain makes judgments about a website in one twentieth of a second! That does not leave you much time to make an impression. So make sure you have your unique selling point (USP) is clearly visible on the home page – and preferably leading to each of your other pages. After all, this is not a given that the site will be the first page viewed, especially if you have found by search engine.

Then be sure to list your guarantee bullet-pointed. Customers need to understand why you’re different, and why you should deal with you and not your competitors. And as we discovered, they must understand that almost immediately.

Finally, make sure your site has a funnel-shaped structure. Identify important pages you – usually the “call to action” or pages market – and to ensure that all roads leading to these internal pages of your connections -. As foreign equivalents – should describe the target page. If you sell blue widgets, do not bring your products page “Products”, calling it “blue widgets», and make sure that the links on this page also says “blue widgets». This will not only help search engines find and rank the most important pages in your site, but will also allow your visitors to convert all important.
