How to register a new domain name
Posted by Admin :: Filed Under (Domains)
Registering a domain name is considered by many newcomers to the Web as a very complicated, very technical job that ordinary people can not do.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Just bits of information at your fingertips when you register your domain name:
- What you call this area
- And you hosting DNS values, given by your hosting company and it is like this:
NS1.WEBSITEWELCOM.COM and
NS2.WEBSITEWELCOME.COM
It is almost always available in pairs.
So, first go to a registrar of domain names with good reputation.
I suggest using either www.better-Domain-Names.com or www.Godaddy.com
These may not be the cheapest record today on the internet, but service and reliability are incredible. I usually work on the principle “You get what you pay” and never a real thing can be said about domain names.
Okay, lets go through the process of registering a domain name:
Using your web browser, visit a domain registrar. Usually the first page is a search option to check whether the domain name you want is available.
Say, for example, are trying to register a domain name for the web training your dog.
So you type in the formula dogtraining.com begins, and it is this area that is already taken.
Now, I suggest you put the words prefix and suffix, or the domain name you want.
So you can try:
betterdogtraining.com
bestdogtraining.com
dogtrainingnewsletter.com
dogtraininganswers.com
You can also try placing dashes “-” in your domain name into separate words.
Of course, there is a group of people search engine optimization now believe that search engines have started to penalize sites with ‘dashes “in them.
Another thing, the areas that do not contain hyphens and do not have numbers on them, usually the seller a higher price.
So if you think you can sell your domain name in the future, then it may be advisable to avoid using two hyphens and numbers.
Say, you can find dogtraininganswers.com available.
So you can go to the next page. In general, it asks for the person who is the owner of this domain. In general, this will be your name, address, telephone number, etc.
Then, the system will ask you how long you want to register your domain name, the minimum term is 1 year and the highest I’ve seen is 10 years. Most people in the period of 1 year, simply because it is cheaper.
One of the best-Domain-names.com screen and the page Godaddy.com, you will see a link that says:
“If you host your site elsewhere, click here to set nameservers”
Set your name servers now (using the name server values given by your hosting company), otherwise you go back and change the default name servers at a later date. the problem is that it usually takes much time to their name servers to propagate through the network and you can wait several days for this. But if you put them now, should be spread within a few minutes, maybe half an hour at most.
* Once you enter two name servers values, you then proceed to payment screen where you enter the number of your credit card.
Here you can see an option called “automatic renewal”. Check this box!
This allows you to renew your domain automatically when its mandate expires. Each accredited domain name as you would have to send multiple e-mail before the end of the field, and if you do nothing in these e-mails, then the field will be automatically renewed.
If you do not set this “automatic renewal” option, then the system will be closed and the area is available for someone else to buy.
After pressing the submit button, it only takes a few seconds for the domain is yours.
